Diving Experience encompasses 10 years freelance work in the offshore oil field, inland and nuclear markets as an air/mixed gas diver, shallow water dive supervisor and operations manager. Work performance required dives to 300', constant domestic and international travel. Learned underwater skills include salvage, certified welding, burning, rigging, pile driving, steel erection, concrete forming and pouring, photography and video. Have performed off shore oil production platform installation, hot tap connections, sub sea well head installation, riser connections, pipeline construction, and penetrations to 2,500' from spud, lay and derrick barges as well as jack up rigs. Inland diving operations have centered around the maintenance, inspection and construction of systems common to industrial water usage at fossil fuel, hyrdo and nuclear power plants. Have performed offshore lifts to 240 tons and operated towing vessels to 100 tons.
Most notable diving construction project:
Industrial Builders Inc. 1990 Mobridge, SD, city water intake extension on Lake Oahe. I was employed on this 4 month project as lead diver of a 5 man dive crew hired to extend an existing 36 inch intake pipe 1,500 feet to a depth of 80 feet. Pipe was replaced in 200 foot sections of 36 inch pipe, which were set in
place using two 3,900 Manitowoc barge mounted cranes. Full length of intake pipe was connected underwater with pressure dresser clamps. Piles were driven into lake bottom to support pipeline and screened intake bolted
to end of pipeline.
